Hi there, Dr. Ashish Patel to talk to you today about one of my favorite pieces of technology in the office—it’s the CEREC technology.
CEREC is the crown in one hour technology. Now, the old-fashioned way of doing crowns was that you’d break a tooth, we’d come in, we’d prepare for a crown, we’d take an impression, and then we’d put a temporary on that. Then you’d have to go home and wait two or three weeks and then come back and get the permanent.
Now, CEREC technology allows us to scan in the tooth and make a crown digitally without any impressions at all, all within about an hour.
This technology has been around for a long time. As a matter of fact, it has been in our office for over 16 years. It’s absolutely beautiful. It comes in all kinds of different shades. I’d say probably about 98% of our crowns are done in-house with the CEREC technology.
