My name is Britney Swan, and I’m a former Miss Georgia USA, and I competed on the national level at the Miss USA pageant on NBC.

Working with Dr. Patel and going through a smile makeover gave me the confidence to do that. To me, having the best smile is really important, especially when you’re working with media and doing events like that, because that’s one of the first things people see about you, and that’s how they can tell if you’re genuinely happy. There’s just so much emotion in that one little action.

Prior to having the smile makeover, there were some opportunities that I probably missed out on not having the smile that I needed. I would look at photos and video, and it just wasn’t the brightest. My teeth just really did not stand out. There were a lot of pictures that I didn’t smile in at all.

When I first came to Dr. Patel’s office, I didn’t know what to expect. I walked in and was completely greeted by his friendly staff. They’re so incredibly sweet and just sincere, and I could tell they genuinely cared about my comfort and asked me if I needed anything. So that was my first experience, and that put me at ease.

I think the main deciding factor for choosing to do the veneers with Dr. Patel was how comfortable he made me feel. I knew, and I could tell, that he was a perfectionist, and who doesn’t want a perfectionist working on their smile? So that was mainly how comfortable I felt and confident that the end result would be exactly what I wanted.

It’s great to have that confidence when you’re competing at Miss Georgia or Miss USA, but also just in everyday life—hanging out with your family and your friends and taking family photos and all that. In your job, when you’re meeting new people, it’s just such a feeling of confidence for me.

So now, after the smile makeover, it’s great because I don’t look at photos the same anymore or look at them in that way. I always smile.
