How Does Dental Insurance Work?
Understanding your dental insurance can take some work, which is why we wanted to provide our patients with a simple-to-understand explanation that can help you better plan for your care.
Exams and cleanings are important for maintaining a healthy, supportive smile. Other general and restorative services are also covered, but you must have met your plan’s deductible first. This includes services like dental fillings, crowns, and root canals, among others. What most insurance plans won’t cover are cosmetic or elective services. Preventive and restorative care is the primary focus of most dental insurance plans.
And finally, you need to understand that qualifying for dental insurance takes time. You can’t sign up for dental insurance one day and then come in for care the next. It takes time to get started. That means you need to plan ahead as you consider what kind of plan is right for you and your family.
Financial Policy
For the past 23 years, Dr. Patel and the team at Dentistry at East Piedmont have been dedicated to helping our patients maximize their insurance benefits. Dr. Patel’s commitment to providing conservative, compassionate care led him to choose to be a non-restricted provider.
What does this mean for you? We handle all your insurance paperwork, filing claims on your behalf, and coordinating your benefits to make the process seamless. As soon as your services are rendered, we submit everything electronically. Although we are out of network with all insurance plans, we work diligently to help you utilize your out-of-network benefits, especially with most traditional PPO plans. At the time of service, we will collect an estimated portion of your insurance coverage to keep things simple.
With over 5000 different insurance plans, it’s essential to fully understand your coverage. While we strive to provide accurate service estimates, insurance companies can sometimes change their coverage decisions. However, we promise that the total fee we quote you will remain unchanged. If there’s any discrepancy between the expected and actual coverage, the balance will become your responsibility.
If your insurance company reimburses you directly, we will collect the full amount of your services and file all claims on your behalf. This is done as a courtesy to you, and we ensure your insurance company receives all necessary information on the day of service.
For your convenience, we offer payment options through several companies listed on our website. These companies provide low-interest or no-interest loans to help you achieve your dental health goals.
We’re here to support you every step of the way, ensuring you receive the high-quality care you deserve without any surprises. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
