Training that shaped his cosmetic eye

Dr. Patel earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana University in 1992, then his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis in 1996. That foundation led to advanced cosmetic training through the Hornbrook Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry Continuum, a credential held by only about 5% of dentists globally.

The practice he wanted to build

After moving to Atlanta, Dr. Patel became clinical director at a large corporate dental practice. The experience clarified the kind of dentistry he did not want to build. Patients should never feel like a treatment plan, a dollar sign, or one more appointment on a packed schedule.

In 2001, he opened Dentistry at East Piedmont in Marietta to create the opposite experience. The clinical work would be highly trained. The comfort and technology would feel modern. The team would know you by name.

Atlanta Magazine named Dr. Patel one of Atlanta’s Top Dentists in 2018 and 2019. That recognition reflects the consistency patients look for when they are choosing a dentist for cosmetic, restorative, and long-term care.

Service beyond the practice

Dr. Patel’s care extends beyond Marietta. Through Flying Doctors of America, he travels annually to provide dental services in underserved communities around the world and serves the organization as both a member and a board adviser. He is also deeply involved in the East Cobb community, supporting local schools and sports teams, the Rotary Club of East Cobb, Smile Train, and other charitable organizations.

Still learning, still refining

Locally, Dr. Patel continues to study, refine, and pressure-test his work through the Spears Dental Study Club and ongoing continuing education. That matters when your treatment plan involves a single veneer, a full smile makeover, a bite problem, or a sleep appliance. The details have to look right, feel right, and hold up in real life.
